Financial Manager

The Finance Manager will oversee the financial functions of the USAID-Tuhifadhi Chakula project and will provide financial leadership to ensure effective and efficient management of project resources. The Finance Manager will work closely with the technical and operations teams to ensure that financial policies and procedures are in place and adhered to.

Scope of work

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis and forecasting of project funds.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial systems, and controls in line with USAID rules and regulations.
  • Develop and implement financial and administrative policies and procedures to ensure compliance with USAID rules and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate financial management systems to ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of all financial transactions.
  • Oversee the payment process to ensure timely payment of vendors, suppliers, and other project-related expenses.
  • Oversee the procurement process, ensuring compliance with USAID regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all USAID rules and regulations.
  • Work closely with the Chief of Party to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all local tax and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to USAID.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate systems for reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the Chief of Party and other members of the project team.
  • Work closely with project partners to ensure financial compliance and proper documentation of all transactions.
  • Provide support and guidance to project partners on financial management.
Qualifications and skills
 
Degree Level
 
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, Business Administration ora related field. Must be a Certified Public or Chartered Accountinq qualification.
 
Experience
 
• At least nine (9) years of experience managing finance, contracts and/or procuremen t related matters fo r international development activities of similar dollar value.
 
•  Experience in managing donor funded procurements and subcontracts/ grants.
 
• Working knowledge and experience with USG -funded program management, policies, requlations, and procedures
 
Key Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, presentation, management, and leadership skills , goal-oriented, flexible, and creative under pressure , budgeting, strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
